  The roses Heirloom sell cost more than what you'll find at your local garden center but if you can afford the initial investment it's definitely worth it. For one thing, the roses you get from them are "own root" roses rather than grafted ones, so you won't ever have the weird experience of having two totally different types of roses sprouting off the same main stem. Second, you will be getting a rose fresh from the nursery, rather than one that's been sitting around in a plastic bag for who knows how long. This means that once it's planted in your garden it'll both look prettier and have stronger resistance to whatever diseases or nibbling creatures it may be exposed to there.
  
  Because there's such a wide variety of roses here, not all of which will be suitable for the climate where you live and the place in your garden you may want to plant it, it's best to know the basics of rose gardening and the different types of roses ahead of time so you'll choose the right one. The page for each rose they sell has a lot of information about the characteristics and special needs of that rose, so read it carefully through before you order. If all goes well you will have your rose for a long time and you may be surprised how much in love you can fall with it, so be sure to choose well!
